Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a chronic syndrome characterized by widespread and long-term musculoskeletal pain, extreme fatigue, and sleep and concentration disturbances. In this syndrome, the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) alters the way pain signals are processed; as a result, the pain tolerance threshold is reduced and the individual exhibits hypersensitivity (Hyperalgesia) to stimuli that are not normally painful.
